The clicking of the minute hand is a currency we can't control or manipulate. The remarkable truth I’ve learnt about life is that it's not how much time we have that counts, but rather what we do with the time we’ve been given. This life truth means that twelve years well spent qualitatively exceeds eighty years squandered.

We were all created on purpose for a divine purpose. We come loaded with everything we need inside of us, and as we live, we unpack each precious gift, talent, and resource along the way. How we react to life’s situations and circumstances can either expedite or hinder our unpacking, so does our actions, attitudes, and appetites. But one thing is certain, we are not here by accident, neither are we here to squander time.

Khaleel was born on June 2, 1997, healthy and full of life. He led a great life full of activity and adventure. In January 2007, Khaleel started to complain of severe neck and shoulder pain, which developed into paralysis in June 2007. In July 2007, Khaleel was diagnosed with a malignant Rhabdoid tumor on his upper spine that was inoperable and he was given less than ten months to live. He underwent both radiation and chemotherapy partnered with a naturopathic protocol.

Khaleel went home to be with the Lord three days after his twelfth birthday, twenty-three months after his diagnosis.

Khaleel had a total of twelve years to unpack the purpose of his life. This book highlights some of the lessons he taught us during his journey. Twelve powerful lessons taught to us by the challenges and triumphs experienced in twelve marvellous, purpose-filled years.
